Before writing a single line of software for FastGrab, our founding team spent two months in Windhoek kitchens, riding on delivery bikes, and sitting with restaurant proprietors from Klein Windhoek to Katutura.
Finding 1: High Commission Fees Hurt Quality
When aggregator platforms demand 25 to 30 percent commission on every order, independent restaurants face an impossible choice: either raise prices exclusively on delivery menus or reduce portion sizes and ingredient quality. A sustainable delivery model must operate with fair, transparent margins.
Finding 2: Real Tracking Beats Guesswork
Customers do not mind waiting 35 minutes if they know exactly where their courier is and when the kitchen started frying their meal. Frustration occurs when the customer is kept in the dark with artificial static timers.
| Pain Point | Current Industry Status | FastGrab Approach | | --- | --- | --- | | Commission Structure | 25% to 35% on food ticket | Fair tiered rates under 15% | | Order Tracking | Static estimated countdowns | Live courier telemetry coordinates | | Packaging Support | Left entirely to restaurants | Supplied insulated thermal packs | | Driver Earnings | High platform cuts | Direct delivery fee allocation to couriers |
